Syracuse, NY - Congressman Jim Walsh (NY-25), who won re-election in 2006 by only 3,000 votes, today will spend his day at a political fundraiser with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Dan Maffei, Democratic candidate for Congress in New York's 25th Congressional District, will spend the day at Syracuse's Hancock Air Base with the New York State Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) at its annual "Boss Lift". Maffei will observe the 174th Fighter Wing's refueling operations and discuss the important role local businesses play in allowing their employees to participate in the reserves and National Guard to help keep our communities safe.

"Congressman Walsh will spend the day wining and dining donors at a local fundraiser while Dan Maffei meets with the brave men and women of New York's Guard and Reserve units," said Maffei spokesman Michael Whyland. "The contrast couldn't be more stark. Congressman Walsh doesn't get it. He is clearly more concerned about keeping his job than actually representing Central New York. We need a change in direction and Dan Maffei is the only candidate in this race who has the courage to give us that change. As he has shown time and again, Jim Walsh is just more of the same."
