Wishy Washy Walsh Can't Find his Legs on Iraq

Just a few weeks ago Jim Walsh was telling us how opposed to Bush's urge to surge:

But there was nothing that he said that convinced me that sending in 20,000 or even 50,000 more troops would change anything in Iraq.

But now the time is coming for Wishy Washy Walsh to put his money where his mouth is, and he seems to be splashing back and forth without a real position:

Rep. James Walsh (R-N.Y.), who was reelected with 51 percent of the vote in November, came out forcefully against the troop increase after the president announced it, saying it would not “force the Iraqi people to work out their differences.”

But as far as the Senate resolutions, Walsh is still reviewing them and is “uncommitted, at this point, to anything that’s on paper,” spokesman Dan Gage said.

I think I'm getting a little seasick.

Hat tip to Rochester Turning.

I bet he's going to come out against the surge (eventually)... he's well aware of the thin ice between his feet and his constituency, so I'm sure he'll reluctantly listen to the will of the people on this one.
