100 Hours Passed

The Democratic first 100 Hours is finished, and they passed all six of their key bills:
  • 9/11 Commission Recommendations
  • Minimum Wage increase
  • Cut student loan interest rates
  • Expand stem cell research
  • Move towards clean energy
  • Negotiate Lower prescription drug prices for Medicare

And you can tell Jim Walsh was got a real good scaring on Nov. 7th, because he was one of 19 Republicans to support 5 out of the 6 pieces of legislation. Of course, most disappointing and least surprising of all was his vote against stem cell research. Had he been hit harder on stem cells and abortion in the campaign I think he would have changed his tune, but I also think that would have pushed Dan Maffei over the top.
