Walsh Discredits Zogby before poll is released

More evidence that the poll must of come back with Maffei up... Walsh deflecting the poll before it was released...

Zogby Wrong
Gage warned that voters should beware of the poll to be released later today by Utica-based pollster John Zogby, commissioned by the Post-Standard and WSYR-TV 9. Last week, an attempted Zogby International poll in New York’s 25th Congressional District had to be scrapped due to weak methodology and an inaccurate weighted sampling.
Today’s results from Zogby will post the same shaky foundation. Zogby relies upon random digit dialing to reach voters, meaning he relies upon answers from respondents who have no proven history of voting and may not even be registered to vote at all. Zogby even calls selected numbers more than once.

“If John Zogby were correct, John Kerry would be President and Stephanie Aldersley would be the Member of Congress representing Central New York today. Remember that last week he was forced to throw out his result,” added Gage. “It’s unfortunate independent local news agencies would rely upon a pollster who works hand in hand with our Democratic opponents. That’s hardly demonstrating independence.”

This is such a crock of shit! If Walsh is blasting the poll, I guarantee he lost in it. If they're so concerned about people being called twice, then they should just put an * next to the results and release it!

Couldn't agree more! First of all, I checked, Zogby doesn't use RDD. Check their website, check the facts before you make stupid accusations! And btw, I checked the original story the methodology was not weak. They certainly made a mistake with weighting; but, they also admitted it and corrected it. Try dropping the partisan rehtoric and deal with reality.

RochesterTurning has picked up on this from Walsh Watch. Hopefully we can get this pushed to a bigger outlet as well. The more press this poll gets, the more likely they'll be pressured to release the numbers.

Beware. Every dirty trick the old guard can think of will be used to keep Walsh in power. It has happened in Floria and in Ohio and it could happen here.

If Maffei and Walsh have a close election you can Walsh and his cronies may try to use technicalities to steal the election.

We will have to start thinking ahead of time about how to head this off.
