The Walsh Watch

Great photo, Maffei Fan!
What's going on with the absentee ballots? Are they going to be counted? Is Maffei still in it?
Guys, this race is NOT over yet.
13,000 absentee ballots left to be counted. Maffei said in his speech last night that it won't be over until ALL the votes have been counted.
He hasn't given up yet. :)
those absentee ballots would have to be 70% for Dan in order to make this happen - that is unfortunately - unrealistic after seeing what happened as results came in tuesday night. A recanvas of the machines may turn up some minor problems - we'll see.
I would love to see another mea culpa moment like what happened with the poll from channel 9.
Stranger things have happened in this race!
Illegal Robocalls to suppress voters... even if Maffei loses in the final tally, I really believe this needs to go to the courts.
The Onondaga county breakdowns are out (PDF warning) -
I wonder who the writein in the 6th ward was.
Considering the fact that most of those absentee ballots come from college students (such as myself) and soldiers over in Iraq, I don't think it's out of the question that the vast majority of those votes will be for Dan.
Or we can hope, anyway.
Final update I think for today on News Channel 9:
Outstanding Absentee Ballots by county are Onondaga County: About 6,500, Wayne County: 1,151,Monroe County: 1,144 ,Cayuga County: 153
That's just an estimate of course. There are 8948 ballots by my calculation. Maffei is down 4000 votes, so there are 4948 left after he makes up the difference. That means he needs 2474 or so to win. So he needs 6474 votes or about 72%. Right?
Is it too early to start thinking about Maffei 08! yet.
That is, assuming Dan would be willing to run again.
