Walsh and Impeachment

Walsh exploited a classic debating maneuver last night (and Dan stepped into the trap) by fanning exagerations between "impeaching" George Bush vs. "oversight of the executive branch".

"Thats a pretty radical position" said He, in mock shocked mode.

So lets remind the viewers out there of Walsh's vote to impeach Bill Clinton. Over what? Lying about sex, apparently a far greater crime then lying about war.

Lets put the kidding aside and look at this situation soberly.

Walsh has ONE MILLION dollars in cash to throw at the campaign. He is LEADING Maffei in the polls, although not by much. He is a GOOD debater. And he makes no bones about being a right wing Republican.

And he is going to win unless we work our asses off. If you're reading this blog you probably care about the outcome. Please help Dan Maffei. Volunteer for his campaign- call or email them. Fight back. Participate in our Democracy!

Try again Jimmy. Americans support impeachment.

Have a look at this poll:

NY-25: Maffei (D) 51%–43% Walsh (R-i)

Walsh is a terrible debater. I've watched two of the Kuhl/Massa debates and two of the Maffei/Walsh debates and Walsh is by far -- by far -- the worst of the four as a debater. I may dislike Kuhl more, but he's a much better debater than Walsh.

I stand corrected on the polls. I got bad info from the TV corespondents from channel10- the lady said the district is leaning republican.

I guess PJS's post shows how much she knows! :-)

But, believe me, now is the time to fight hardest. Walsh is only just starting to fight and he will do so dirty.
