PUT UP A LAWN SIGN.

PUT ON A BUMPER STICKER.

VOLUNTEER TO DAN'S CAMPAIGN TO CANVAS OR MAKE PHONE CALLS.

DONATE MONEY.

Some quotes from Walsh (yes, these are EXACT quotes).

"Local economy best in the state"

I don't know if this is true or not, but I couldn't find any info that might support this. I also have a hard time believing we do better than, say, NYC. Again, I'm no economist.

On Iraq:

"50% of Iraq controlled by Iraqis"

"Ask OBL if it's part of the war on terror"

"Ground zero for the war on terror"

"I believe that they do" (have democracy in Iraq)

These are the standard WH talking points, which shouldn't come as a surprise. I think he pulled that 50% number out of his ass, to be honest.
Read this site and tell me the government has control. They don't even control the oil for crying out loud!

On immigration:

He didn't really say anything that I felt was quote worthy, but it was clear that he supports it, illegal or not. In my opinion anyway. Curious that he only talked about the Mexican border, no mention of the Canadian border. Either he forgot where NY is or he's only concerned about brown people.

Voting with constituents:

"Very important that you stay in touch with your constituents"

This was perhaps THE most disgusting part of the debate. He spend alot of time saying that he had to vote his views, even if the voters disagreed. Uh, Jim....your job is to represent US, not yourself.

Patriot Act/wiretapping:

"My view has been, right along, that there is a court that the President should go to prior to going ahead and tapping on someone's phone line"

However, a quick search reveals that he voted to APPROVE warrantless wiretapping.

"My position is very much different than the President's on the use of torture."

However...well...I think you can guess what I'm going to say.

This is just SOME of the crap that came out of his mouth. He didn't talk much about local stuff. He bragged in his opening statement and had a temper tantrum in his closing.

In stark contrast, was Dan. He managed to turn EVERY issue into a local one. He was cool, calm and collected. Even threw in a couple jokes. The choice really couldn't be any more clear.
