Red to Blue to make Walsh blue

Maffei Campaign Gets Huge Boost By Qualifying For DCCC Red to Blue List

Red to Blue is an Exclusive Program That Rewards Candidates for Meeting
Fundraising Goals and Getting Their Message Across to Voters

(Washington , D.C. 9/17/2006) -- In a clear signal that the race for the 25th Congressional District is becoming one of the most competitive seats in the country, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has announced that the Dan Maffei for congress campaign has qualified for its competitive Red to Blue fundraising program.

Maffei's campaign earned a spot in the program by surpassing demanding fundraising goals and by skillfully showing voters that he stands for change and will represent new priorities when elected to Congress. The Red to Blue program highlights top Democratic campaigns across the country, and offers them financial, communications, and strategic support.

"Being part of the Red to Blue Program is a clear example of the strength of our campaign for change. Families in upstate New York are looking for new priorities and a new direction and I am proud that so many people have already put their trust in me to fight for them in Washington," said Maffei. "As someone who was born and raised in Central New York, I have seen how the policies pursued by George Bush, Jim Walsh, and the Republican Congress have devastated our region. Qualifying for the DCCC's Red to Blue program will help us send a clear message that we're fed up with their wrong priorities."

The Red to Blue program is designed to provide financial and structural aid to the strongest Democratic candidates across the country. The program will introduce Democratic donors to Dan Maffei and his message for change to help significantly expand his fundraising base.

Located in upstate New York, the 25th Congressional District includes all of Onondaga and Wayne Counties and parts of Monroe and Cayuga counties.
