Walsh's Minimum Wage Hypocrisy
So Friday night/Saturday morning typical Republican Ridiculousness occurred on the House floor. There was a vote on this bill:
To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to increase the unified credit against the estate tax to an exclusion equivalent of $5,000,000, to repeal the sunset provision for the estate and generation-skipping taxes, and to extend expiring provisions, and for other purposes.
Ah, but you'll see if you scroll to the bottom here that this bill also includes a provision to raise the minimum wage.
Now we know what Jim Walsh has to say about shenanigans like this, right?
"It's legislative mischief to add it to every single bill," [Jim Walsh] said.
"We need to have a vote on this . . . up or down," Walsh said.
So we can expect that he opposed this bill on principle like he did when Democrats dared to include minimum wage amendment to a spending bill. Wrong, Wishy Washy Walsh is back, this time to vote for the bill. It's just another case of Jim Walsh saying one thing in Syracuse and doing another in Washington.
