Do we know how many people left the ballot blank for this race last time around rather than voting green?

What about 2004?

Walsh only ended up with about 60% of all the ballots cast in 04. About a third of the people who showed up opted not to vote in the race, myself included.

106,711 out of the 315,880 who showed up decided not to vote for Congress.

Wow. So, in a much better environment for Republicans and with no major party opponent, Walsh still managed to lose 40% of the vote. This is better than I thought...

The Dems needs money, folks.

What can we do? Its David and Golieth.

One thing is to blab on blogs like these, it feels good to vent, but it also is helpful to sharpen our arguments through debate and to share useful information. Unfortunately its mostly preaching to the converted.

Its another to volunteer. But opportunities on that end are limited. Spread the word to people you know about Dan Maffei's existance, especially the independants. Put up a bumper sticker on your cubicle.

Money, however, HELPS. It buys commercials. It impresses Walsh organs like the Sub-Standard and draws attention. It alerts the business community there is a new player in town and they will stop habitually supporting the incumbant.

Small donations are noise, but commulatively they add up. For example a donation of 100$ wont make much a difference. But 100 people reading this email each giving 100$? Thats 100K.

So if you are realy pissed off at whats going on in this country- DONATE to the Democrats.
