Endorsement City

Dan Maffei has hit the ground running with endorsements.

Eliot Spitzer:

"Dan has the knowledge, experience and leadership to be a very effective Congressman," said Eliot Spitzer. "Dan is a hard worker who is dedicated to improving the lives of Central New Yorkers. I am confident that he will represent the people of the 25th District with dignity and I look forward to working with him."

SEIU Local 1199:

"The radical Republicans in Congress who are allied with Bush and Cheney are responsible for a series of horrendous attacks on the rights of workers," said Marshall Blake, Executive Vice President of 1199 SEIU in Upstate New York. "Dan Maffei has earned our endorsement because he is knowledgeable about a wide range of issues facing working women and men."

Blake noted Maffei’s positions on several key issues, including access to healthcare, were critical to securing the union’s backing. They include Maffei’s commitment to an increase in the federal minimum wage, union organizing rights without fear and intimidation from unscrupulous employers, and a commitment to federal Medicare and Medicaid funding.

Teamsters Local 317:

"George Bush and his Republican lead Congress have the wrong priorities, the wrong agenda, and have taken this country in the wrong direction," said Gary Staring, Principal Executive Officer of the Teamsters Local 317. "We need new leadership in Washington and new members in Congress that will watch out for the best interests of the working families living in Central New York. Dan Maffei represents new leadership and new priorities and I strongly endorse his campaign."The Teamsters Local 317 represents 3300 members and 2100 retirees in Central New York.

This is a pretty heavy hitting trio, I bet Jim Walsh wishes he had one, if not all, of these endorsements.

Walsh doesn't need endoresements. Why bother? He has his big money pals. People happy to keep the Republican gravy train rolling- which boils down to one thing: cut taxes for the rich and screw everyone else. Hopefully people will wake up and vote the puppet out this time around..
