Paloma Op-Ed

Paloma Capanna had an Op-Ed in the Sub-Standard today:

For six long years, President Bush, Mr. Walsh, and the GOP have driven America in the wrong direction. They have taken us into Iraq, without basis, without a plan and at great cost. They have run up a massive deficit, protected tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations, but have cut essential human services. We might as well have had an empty chair at the House, such is how little Walsh has done to represent our interest.

And the Republican leadership has been corrupt. Libby, Abramoff, Cunningham and DeLay. Walsh has asked us to consider him a Republican leader, a "cardinal" of Republican power, no less. This is not leadership in fulfillment of the constitutional oath of office as envisioned by our forefathers.

[...]

We are already building our legislative agenda for January. First and foremost, you have asked for local economic revitalization, along with a solution to the energy crisis that is environmentally responsible. You have asked for health insurance reform, because even if you are insured, you know someone who is not and you know the cost of premiums and uncovered care. And you have asked for a sensible approach to retirement, including the protection of earned benefits and repayment of the loan against the Social Security trust fund.

Paloma has nothing to offer by hyperbole and polemic as evidenced by this op-ed. She needs to get out of the way.
