Jim for More of the Same
Roll Call Columnist and highly respected nonpartisan political analyst Stu Rothenberg concurs with what I have been saying. Jim is just supporting more of the same in the House. He doesn't care about cleaning up, he likes the Republican culture of corruption just the way it is. Here is what Rothenberg had to say in his Thursday Roll Call column:
But if Republicans think they can turn the page on former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) by sticking with Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.), Blunt as Majority Leader and Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) as Majority Whip, they must be wearing rose-colored glasses.
But if they stick with the same leadership team that they have had, minus DeLay, then they'd better be sure that they can effectively rebut Democratic arguments that "DeLay's team" still runs the House GOP. Because it does.
Ethics has become a major threat to the Republicans' control of Capitol Hill.
Jim is among the tone deaf to the need to break the stranglehold the Republican Culture of Corruption and out of touch special interests has over our Congress.
